Subaru Service DOES NOT Machine/Mill the Cylinder Heads or Vacuum check for Valve Sealing.
If you have had cylinder head work at Subaru it is Subaru's Policy to only repair or check the cylinder head if it is absolutely needed, they do not go out of the way or make it a priority to check Intake/Exhaust Valve sealing pressures, Pressure test the heads for cracks or the most important of them all: Machine/Mill the Cylinder Head mating surface. This is a Crucial step in the repair process because it ensures that the Subaru cylinder Head is 100% flat and has the correct surface finish for the Head Gasket to Mate/Adhere to the Cylinder Head. This is a basic step and rule in witch all Machinists, Automotive Technicians/Mechanics and Service Writers follow and abide by to make sure There are zero chance of any issues in the future. Our Company has re-repaired many Subaru Head Gasket jobs that were just serviced by the Subaru Dealership within under 6 Months and only 10,000, - 20,000 Miles on the repair made by Subaru.

Subaru Service DOES NOT Disassemble Cam Plates, Clean and Polish Journals, Reseal or Adjust Valves.
Another crucial step that needs to be preformed while repairing Cylinder Head Gaskets on Subaru is that the Camshaft Hold Down Plates need to be removed, Cam Journals polished, the Camshafts also need to be removed and polished, the Cam Plates then need to be re-installed, Properly Torqued in sequence and re-sealed with the appropriate sealant. After the Cam Plates have been cleaned,polished and re-sealed the next step is giving all 16 Intake/Exhaust Valves a proper Valve Lash Adjustment and Install new Camshaft Oil Seals and Retainers. Not doing these crucial steps in the Head Gasket Repair Process will eventually result in substantial oil leakage, Cylinder Misfiring, Camshaft and/or excessive Cam Journal wear. Subaru does not preform these crucial steps unless requested and along with that request comes a very high price tag. At Sorenson Automotive, Inc. We always include this into our repair process so that your Engine will run smooth and not have any additional oil leaks coming from the Cylinder Heads.
